Dandelion Ridge Farm

Dandelion Ridge Farm lies just south of Versailles, a little north of Nonesuch, in wondrous Woodford County. One of the principal features of our farm is the pollinator habitat that surrounds our growing space. We like to think that the garden is an extension of the habitat, not an interruption of it. That goes for the underground, too. We work hard to keep our subterranean community thriving, with cover cropping, undercropping, and other sustaining practices. After we get the pollinators fed and the microbes, too, then we get to do our favorite job: feeding you. On our certified organic farm we grow a variety of culinary herbs—regulars like thyme, sage, rosemary, lavender, basil, and parsley alongside the lesser-seen lovage, sorrel, and epazote. Likewise, our vegetables include the basics such as celery, okra, a variety of peppers, potatoes, onions, and garlic, but we also offer farther-afield items like ginger and yacon. Our personal favorites are the Costata Romanesco zucchini and the always elegant haricots verts. Maybe the flavor-bomb cherry tomatoes. Or perhaps the carrots or Savoy cabbage. So many favorites! We put our culinary background to good use by making some specialty herb blends, a tea or two, and a few canned goods.
